A teenager has been not to show up at school unless he shaves off his Paul Pogba-style extreme haircut.
Midfielder Pogba, who signed for United in a record £89 million transfer this summer, is currently donning a dramatic kingsnake hairstyle – the latest in a string of extravagant styles.
But teachers were less than impressed by 13-year-old Benjamin Piper’s copycat style, with a huge shooting star shaved into his ginger mop.
He was told he can’t return to school for the new autumn term next week sporting the barmy barnet.
But when they got home, Tracy said her husband warned her the school might not be happy.
“He said: ‘Will the school accept that?’
“So I checked the school’s website and nowhere does it say they can’t have patterns or lines – it just says no bright colours,” she said.
“I thought I better take him into school to double check and I explained my husband’s concerns to the receptionist and asked if she thought it would be okay.
“She looked at him and said ‘probably not’.
“Then the teacher came down and before I even spoke, he said ‘we’re not having that’.
“I was shocked and angry. I tried to say it’s not his hair that learns, it’s him.”
She said Benjamin had been looking forward to the new term at Gainsborough Academy after the summer break and wanted a new hairdo for the occasion.
“The teacher said Benjamin is not allowed to turn up on Monday unless he has had his hair shaved off.
“Otherwise he would have to spend the next few months in isolation, or find another school.
“I’m not going to send him in on Monday – I don’t know what I’m going to do.
“Benjamin’s really upset about it. He’s been looking forward to going back since two weeks into the summer holidays.”
No-one was available at the school , but the website says: “Pupils are only allowed to have natural hair colouring. Greens, blues, reds etc are not allowed.”
