Seven police officers have been shot and three are feared dead after a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Police responded to reports of a suspicious person armed with an assault rifle on Sunday morning. When police arrived, the gunman opened fire.
Mayor-president of East Baton Rouge Parish Kip Holden said that officials are still trying to process the situation.
“There is still an active scene. They are investigating,” Holden told CNN.
“Right now we are trying to get our arms around everything. It’s just been one thing after another.”
One witness told WBRZ-TV that a man was dressed in black with his face covered began randomly shooting as he walked by a convenience store and car wash.
