British born Hollywood actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, is to marry fiancee Sophie Hunter this weekend, it has been revealed by a Sky news report.
British-Nigerian star, David Oyelowo, spoke in defence of the British actor recently for using the word “coloured” when he decried the shortage of black actors in films.
Oyelowo said the furore caused by his usage of the word “coloured” was only an attempt to deflect attention from the seriousness of the issue Benedict Cumberbatch had raised.
The location of the private ceremony has not been disclosed, though there are widespread reports it will take place on the Isle of Wight.
The British couple famously announced their engagement in the births, marriages and deaths section of The Times last November.
Cumberbatch, 38, met Hunter, 36, when they appeared in 2009 film Burlesque Fairytales.
Last month, the pair revealed they were expecting their first child.
The Sherlock star has been shortlisted for an Oscar for his role as mathematician and Second World War codebreaker Alan Turing, in The Imitation Game. The winners are announced on February 22.
Hunter’s credits include roles in Torchwood and Midsomer Murders.
