Bobbi Kristina Brown is reportedly being taken out of a medically induced coma.
The 21-year-old is still “fighting for her life” after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Atlanta on January 31, but doctors have begun to wean her off the medication that has kept her in a medically-induced coma.
“We’re hoping for a significant change soon, but we know that it may not change anything,” a family source said.
Her medical team are believed to have made the decision in an attempt to get a sense of how well her brain is functioning.
She also recently underwent a tracheostomy, which prompted speculation she is making progress, but her condition remains “severe” and she is still on life support.
The source told PEOPLE magazine: “There will be a sign of hope, and then nothing. Every day, we wonder if this will be the day that we get good news.
“We’re all hoping and praying that this will give us some answers.”
Meanwhile, Bobbi Kristina’s family are still suspicious of her adopted brother turned boyfriend, Nick Gordon, who has been banned from seeing her.
The source said: “He can say whatever he wants to say.
“We are leaving the investigation in the hands of the authorities. Our focus has always been Bobbi Kristina’s health and recovery. That’s all that matters to us right now.”
