President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, condemned the pathetic response of the last administration to the abduction of the over 200 girls who were kidnapped from Chibok by Boko Haram.
According to President Buhari, conflicting reports from the Jonathan administration and the security agencies shortly after the abduction of the schoolgirls portrayed the last administration in bad light locally and internationally.
President Buhari stated this when he granted audience to members of the BringBackOurGirls group.
According to him, the response from government over the incident was far from being impressive and unfortunate.
“We cannot rationalise the government’s incompetence in handling this issue,” he said.
The President however reiterated the commitment of his administration to mobilise and deal with the scourge of terrorism across the country, insisting that members of the Boko Haram sect could not claim to be propagating Islam and that they should think of changing their name to something else.
