Facts have emerged that the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, resigned in order to avoid being sacked by president Buhari.
The Katsina State indigene became Comptroller-General of Customs on August 17, 2009.
He was reported to have shunned Buhari ahead of the 2015 election, when his support was sought but made frantic efforts to align with him (Buhari), after the March victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
It was also gathered that in an effort to be in Buhari’s good books the former Comptroller General sealed the warehouse of a rice-importing company over backlog of default in clearing import duty.
According to sources, since the result of the March presidential election was announced, the Customs boss, who backed former president Goodluck Jonathan, had tried to make amends to no avail.
