Edo Deputy Speaker’s House Gutted By Fire

The official home of Festus Ebea, the Edo State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, has reportedly been destroyed in a fire incident.

Fortunately, there was no life lost in the fire.

The inferno, which started from the living quarters of the house, happened on Wednesday night and goods worth several millions of Naira were lost in the fire.

The Deputy Speaker told newsmen that, luckily, he was able to retrieve his certificates but the fire destroyed documents relating to his Office.

Computers, plasma TV, air conditioners, phones, Bank documents, official documents and an undisclosed amount of money, were among personal effects destroyed in the inferno.

He said that the cause of the fire may be traced to an electrical fault.

“I do not suspect any foul play,” he said.
