World Champions, Germany, have drawn up a list of players that make them want to avoid playing Nigeria during the qualifying stage of the next World Cup.
In the official Bundesliga website, bundesliga.com, the reigning champions explained why they will want to avoid Nigeria:
“Nigeria, with an average age of 24.9 years, is the youngest of the 32 teams that will compete in the next World Cup. Germany is second with 25.7. With six appearances in the last seven editions, the Nigerian team is one of the classics at the World Cup. Nobody could beat them in the qualifying phase. Obi Mikel keeps sending with an iron arm in the midfield, Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses put the speed up and Kelechi Iheanacho makes the difference. Directed by the German Gernot Rohr , the Nigerians are an always complicated rival. In defense, Leon Balogun ( Mainz 05), is another of the key players”.
It’s probably for the same reason that Nigeria’s half-German coach, Gernot Rohr, hopes Nigeria is placed in the same group with Germany during Friday’s draws.
