US Gunman Kills Reporter And Cameraman During Live Broadcast

Two journalists, a reporter and cameraman, have died as a gunman opened fire on a news crew during a live broadcast at a Virginia shopping plaza, says CBS News.

The two journalists were working for CBS news affiliate WDBJ during Wednesday morning’s broadcast.

Gunfire rang out as they conducted an interview at Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta.

Screaming is heard as the camera drops to the ground and the broadcast cuts back to the studio where a female anchor is sitting in stunned silence.

The two victims were named by CBS News as reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office told Sky News the suspect targeted the news crew at 6.45am.

The attacker remains at large, said a police spokeswoman.
