A 25-year-old man, John Jonchuk, has been arrested after allegedly throwing his five-year-old daughter off a bridge in Florida to her death.
According to a Sky news report, he was spotted by an officer when he stopped on a bridge in St Petersburg and tossed his daughter into the Tampa Bay water.
The officer said the man then got back into his car and drove off.
The child, Phoebe Jonchuk, was pulled out of the water by rescue crews, who tried to resuscitate her. But she died at hospital.
Her father, 25-year-old John Jonchuk, was stopped shortly after. He faces a first-degree murder charge.
Officials said he also faces charges of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle on a law enforcement officer and aggravated fleeing and eluding police.
