Nicki Minaj’s tour manager, D’evon Picket, has been killed and another injured after a stabbing in Philadelphia, according to a Sky news report.
Minaj wrote on Twitter that the pair had flown to the city for rehearsals two days ago.
“Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed,” the Anaconda singer wrote.
Police said the two men, ages 29 and 26, were both stabbed at about 2am on Wednesday outside a bar in the city’s West Oak Lane neighbourhood.
The 29-year-old was killed and the younger man critically wounded.
Authorities have not officially identified the victims, nor confirmed that they worked for Minaj.
Rapper Fabolous shared a photo of the victims on his Instagram account, identifying the deceased as De’Von Pickett and the other victim as Eric Parker.
“I am still in shock & don’t want to believe this,” the hip-hop star wrote.
“And it hurts even more knowing how good these two dudes are. How hard these guys work. And how loyal they are to whoever they are down with & each other.”
Philadelphia police Chief Inspector Scott Small told local NBC affiliate WCAU the younger victim was expected to survive.
Minaj called the stabbing “another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy”.
Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
