Nigerians have been reacting to the president’s latest initiative on the BBC page on Facebook and as you can imagine it’s not very pretty.
Chuma Hardy: “He Mr Buhari should first change the way he rule (govern) Nigeria, with acrimony, iron hand, dictatorship, autocratic, selective, tribalism, unjust and nepotism in the highest order. I think by then Nigerians should learn from him by so doing”.
Danny Julius A: To what extent has he changed himself? The same old religious bigot, ethnice champion, 97% & 5%; same old dictator who has no regard for the constitution or the judiciary. Ordering soldiers to shoot and kill unarmed, defenceless civilians and #Biafra protesters?
A man who values the life and security of cows above lives of people outside his Hausa and FOOLani folks?
If this change doesn’t begin with him, then let him shove it deep down his *ss (Edited by the BBC)
Richly Wizky: The most important change now is to change this buhari animal
King Iyobosa Justice Osanah: If I were Buhari, I would by now bury my head in shame. How does it matter the behavior of Nigerians? What has that got to do with the crippled and weeping economy? Africans largest economy is in ruin, yet he gat mouth to talk. Vote for me, vote for me was his Plea a couple of months ago, and now thereafter, what is result of the terrible mistake Nigerians made….hardship, and illusions only. I ask what does Buhari know about democratic governance? He should go do with his herds, hence he is a herdsman, that is their profession.
Dédé Thangó: The confused mallam suddenly find himself in the seat of power again and he did not bother to change his undemocratic nature,Nigeria has never been sectionalize in this kind of manner before 97% and 5%,lopsided appointments, mass killings of peaceful protesters, disregard and violation of the constitution and court orders, secret employment of children of the political elites and disastrous economic policies. Hypocritically, he has lunch another useless slogan ”The change begin with Buhari not with Nigerians ” Corruption fighting corruption.
Not all the comments were critical though, some were quite complimentary of the president while others tried to remain neutral.
Brownson Alfred: Buhari is the first economist that i’ve ever known in nigeria based on his plans for the country, if the previous leaders had strategies & good economic plan for this country, there would’nt have been any hardship in this country. i pray that God should strengthen him in Jesus name.
Auwalu Ahmed Mohammed: We really 100% support Mr.Buhari administration. We keep praying may almighty Allah guide his cabinets on the right way inoder to fulfill election promises
Peter Goch Anyang-majongdul: in Bor South Sudan, what we all want to hear from Buhari is the return of the Chibok girls and final stability especially in the Boko Haram affected states
Richard Maughan: I think Nigeria must do more to promote in trying to the Nigerians to stay at home because some of them have been using rubber dighies to go to Europe and the President must changed his policy to ensure that his people stays in the country and not using rubber dighies and to ensure that more border guards could be deployed to ensure any Nigerian who is thinking of going to Europe.
John Njovu: Nigerians, ifail to understand you only one year ago you celebrated the downfall of jonathan and now what has gone wrong with buhari now?do you realy know what you want as a nation?
