Nigeria’s midfielder, Nosa Igiebor was injured when the bus carrying the Super Eagles away from the stadium after the match was attacked by some Ethiopians on Sunday.

It is reported that when the bus conveying the players eventually left the stadium after a long delay, Ethiopian fans hurled objects at the bus and shattered the rear window.
Igiebor was reportedly hit on the hand by a big stone causing a gash to his right plan, which needed immediate attention from the team doctor because of the bleeding.
Musa Amadu, Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary explained that the players had to forgo the dinner organised in their honour at the Nigerian Embassy in Addis Ababa because of the incident.
“Their bus was stoned, and a player was injured,” Amadu told the gathering. “As a result, the players do not feel safe enough to come out from their hotel.”
NFF Vice President, Chief Mike Umeh, said the matter has been reported to the FIFA Security team at the match venue and hopes appropriate action will be taken.
“It’s a shame that such an embarrassing behaviour could happen after a football match.” Chief Umeh added.
The matter was also reported to the Ethiopian Police by Eagles Chief security Officer, ACP Baba Abubakar.
The second leg of the match comes up in Nigeria November 16.
