Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare’s talents will once again be on display in London on Saturday as she lines up with other female sprinters to compete in the 100m women’s event.
The Nigerian sprint queen will be running in heat 2 along with four Americans, two Brits and a Dutch and she has the fastest Seasonal and Personal Best time in her group.
The fastest qualifiers from Okagbare’s group will meet in the final with the fastest qualifiers from Heat 1, which includes another African, Ivorien Murielle Ahoure.
The Ivorien will be running in the same group as American English Gardner, whose personal and seasonal best of 10.79 is the same as Okagbare’s Personal Best.
Blessing Okagbare’s Seasonal Best of 10.80s is a hundredth of a second slower than Gardner’s.
Statistically, the first place should go to one of the two ladies with the fastest times, American English Gardner and Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare as the Jamaican ladies are absent from this year’s London meet.
