Oscar winner, British actor Eddie Redmayne has shown he can switch from being a wheelchair bound professor to a transgender woman, as the first image of him in character for his new film is unveiled.
The actor, who won Best Actor Oscar for portraying Professor Hawkings in Theory Of Everything plays transgender painter Einar Wegener – later known as Lili Elbe – in The Danish Girl.
Tom Hooper is directing the big-screen adaptation of David Ebershoff’s novel of the same name, which also stars Alicia Vikander and Amber Heard.
The story, which takes place in the 1920s, tells the love story between Einar and his wife Gerda Waud (Alicia), and how Gerda persuaded him to pose for her in women’s clothes. He later underwent sex reassignment surgery to become a woman.
Eddie’s new look surprised many people on Twitter, who mistakenly thought he was Jessica Chastain.
