“Pay Teachers Well Before Giving Pupils Nasco Biscuits” Senator Ben Bruce Tells FG
Senator Ben Murray Bruce has gone on Twitter to condemn the Federal Government’s decision to start giving pupils in Nigeria free Nasco biscuits.
In a 3-part tweet, the Bayelsa State senator criticised a decision by the Federal Government to prioritise giving pupils biscuits over paying their teachers well.
1-If we really want to improve education, Nigeria's immediate priority should be to #PayTeachersWell before giving Nasco biscuit to pupils.

2-Even if you give students all the Nasco biscuit in the world and you dont #PayTeachersWell, you'll still end up with biscuit illiterates.

3-If we don't #PayTeachersWell and we give them Nasco biscuits to give their students, guess whose belly the biscuit is going to end up in?

Within hours of the Senator’s tweets the word, NASCO, started trending on Twitter with many agreeing with the Senator’s sentiments.
The Senator himself retweeted one of the responses:
@benmurraybruce am a teacher and am proud to say that if you don't pay the teachers well and you want us to share biscuit to students. SORRY
