Peaches Geldof’s Last Tweet

The last tweet by Peaches Geldof, 24 hours before her death, was a tragic reflection of her life according to a Sky News Report.

The tweet showed Peaches as a toddler in the arms of her mother, Paula Yates.

The caption simply read: “Me and my mum”.

Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 at the age of 41.

Peaches, the second daughter of Yates and musician Bob Geldof, was 11 at the time.

Dan Wooton, showbiz editor of The Sun, told Sky News: “I knew her (Peaches) through work. She was a highly troubled person and obviously someone who dealt with massive tragedy in her life.

“It was something that haunted her life.

“What is particularly tragic and poignant is that the last photo she posted on Twitter was a picture of her and her mother. You do have to wonder where her head was at.”

Speaking to Elle Magazine in 2013, Peaches admitted she had struggled to come to terms with Yates’s death.

“I remember the day my mother died, and it’s still hard to talk about it. I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day because my father’s mentality was ‘Keep calm and carry on’,” she said.

“So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened. But it had happened. I didn’t grieve. I didn’t cry at her funeral.

“I couldn’t express anything because I was just numb to it all. I didn’t start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16.”

Despite these difficulties, Peaches had somehow managed to get to grips with her grief, according to Ray Levine, her publicist between 2007 and 2011.
