Piers Morgan Savaged On Twitter For Saying Ali Was More Racist Than Donald Trump
Controversial British journalist, Piers Morgan, has attracted a flurry of impassioned criticism after claiming, in a tweet, that Muhammad Ali was more racist than Donald Trump, barely 24 hours after the boxing legend passed away.
Muhammad Ali said far more inflammatory/racist things about white people than Donald Trump ever has about Muslims. #fact

The response to the tweet came in torrents and most were critical of the former talk show host:
@piersmorgan PS Would you have been brave enough to write such bollocks while Muhammad Ali was still alive? Again, doubt it tosser!
— Nick Kenney (@nixken) June 5, 2016
.@piersmorgan @nixken Rich white men of privilege should have nothing to say about how black Americans responded to Jim Crow.

@piersmorgan The difference being, Ali was fighting injustice for a whole demographic. Trump just dividing people for his own ends.

Nigeria’s own Ogechukwu Osih joined in the argument with a rather tempered defence of the departed boxing legend:
@piersmorgan am not supporting it but I guess he was influenced or angered by what was happening in America at that time

@BasedTemp @ogechukwuosih @piersmorgan Was Trump ever told that he couldn't eat at "whites only"restaurants, bathrooms or called the N word?

After the initial backlash, Morgan tried to defend himself but only got more knocks:
Why would stating that Muhammad Ali made a lot of inflammatory, race-charged statements in his life be remotely controversial? He did.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 5, 2016
@piersmorgan it's the comparison to Trump, Piers and you know it. No mention of context to what was happening then. TOO SOON.

@piersmorgan @daveweeden What do u mean? Expressing how he felt about being marginalized by white ppl b/c of skin color was his right. Free

Remember:@piersmorgan needs to trend. Helps him keep his gig.

Maybe if people just ignored attention-seeking Piers Morgan, he'd go away. Forever.
