Former Florida Governor, son and brother of two former US president, Jeb Bush, has officially launches his bid to become the Republican nominee for president.
In a video ahead of the speech he pledged to protect the most vulnerable and remove barriers to social mobility.
Doubts, however, persist among conservatives in his party as early polling suggests that he has yet to dominate a wide field of Republican candidates.
Excerpts of his Miami speech released ahead of time suggest he will blame a “static” Washington for causing problems, and point to his eight years as governor in Florida.
“I know we can fix this. Because I’ve done it.”
In the video, titled The Greatest Century, he said: “I see a great country on the verge of its greatest century, and I’m ready to lead.”
