Nigeria international and Hull City full back, Ola Aina, on loan from Chelsea, secured qualification for Championship side, Hull City, into round four of the FA Cup with a victory over League One Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Aina scored the only goal of the game by heading in Jon Toral’s corner just before the hour mark.
The goal was the 21-year-old’s first in senior football.
Blackburn almost took the lead in the first half as Paul Caddis’ 20-yard volley hit the top of the crossbar.
Forward Danny Graham had the chance to equalise but fired inches over.
Hull, who are 21st in the second tier, have now progressed from the third round in six of the past seven seasons.
For Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn, third in League One, it was a first defeat in 18 games in all competitions.
Aina played the whole ninety minutes of the game but picked up a yellow card in the 71st minute for a bad foul.
