“All Talk No Action,” – Nigerians Respond To Buhari’s Independence Speech

To mark the country’s 56th Independence Day celebration, the President, Muhammadu Buhari has addressed the nation as is customary for the Head of State to do during the independence day celebration.

In response to the address, which was published in full on the Aso Villa Facebook page, some Nigerians have complained that the Presidential address is mere talk and nothing more than that.

One commentator, Saleh M. Saleh said, “the major problem with Nigerian leadership is that they talk much and take less action.”

Yet another commentator, Alhaji Mamman Tuski noted, “The first time I watch (sic) live broadcast of 1st October Presidential speech without fuelling my generator”.

Another commentator on Facebook, Bukar Muhammed asked, “Does that mean we can celebrate? People are dying of hunger, poverty and starvation, etc?

Akanni Dipo had a brief word of advice for the president: “Stop talking sir, lets face realities”.

Gazali Mohammed’s brief response was: “All talk no action”.
