Thugs clashed at the All Progressive Congress, APC, rally held for its candidates at Gbagada, Lagos, on Monday and two people got injured.
According to a Vanguard report, the clash started midway into the campaign while one of the speakers was addressing the party members and supporters at the venue of the campaign.
Sources said the campaign started on a peaceful note with members dressed in the party attire but trouble started when each group started displaying different types of weapons.
It was gathered that one of the group, which arrived at the campaign late started the hostility. While the fracas lasted, many had to run in different directions for safety.
The police were able to resuscitate one of the thugs who was stabbed and was lying on the ground unconscious.
More policemen were then drafted to the scene to maintain peace as the thugs were driven out of the venue.
Sources said teargas canisters were shot outside the campaign ground after the thugs had been driven out which made many to troop out of the venue before Fashola began his speech.
