While the bodies of those killed in a fresh attack by Hausa Fulani herdsmen on Monday were still warm, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, 74-year-old Muhammadu Buhari, took time out of his very hectic schedule to host three very patriotic Nigerians, 3-year-old Maya, 10-year-old Aisha and 12-year-old Nicole.
jobless dutiful Personal Assistant on New Media was quick to bore furnish us with details of this historic occasion.
The president hastily rearranged his list of priorities by first honouring these very patriotic Nigerians for their respective meritorious services to the nation while he asked his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to release a statement regarding the disturbance in faraway plateau state.
The president chose to honour 3-year-old Maya who became an instant internet sensation overnight when her videos of “Baba Buhari” went viral. (It’s not clear if the president knew her video went viral because she is so cute and innocent and not because she probably mistook the president for her grandfather.)
In Aisha’s case, her decision to pen a personal letter to the president, at the tender age of ten, declaring herself as the president’s “biggest fan” earned her a place in the pantheon of the greatest Nigerians who ever lived. The president must have marvelled at where she could have learnt to write as such a young age given the deplorable state of education in Nigeria.
Finally, the president also honoured Nicole, a selfless, generous, loving and caring 12-year-old girl who donated her entire savings of N5,785 to the president’s campaign in 2015. This young innocent Nigerian sacrificed all she had to support the campaign of a man who promised to reduce corruption, establish a National Carrier, provide jobs for youths, stop government officials making medical pilgrimages abroad, make Nigeria a safer place to live in and we are all still waiting for that man.
I guess as Nigerians we should all congratulate ourselves for having a
narcissist, sorry a patriot as president.
