24-Year-Old Man Jailed For Sending Indecent Pictures Of His 17 Year Old Girlfriend
A 24-year-old man, identified as Daniel Major, has been jailed for taking naked pictures of a 17-year-old girl he had a sexual relationship with and sharing them with his friends, according to a Mirror publication.
The 17-year-old girlfriend was old enough to have sex with Major but he broke laws by taking pictures of the youngster and sending them to a friend because she is under 18.
A court heard police found the rude snaps on the girl’s phone during an unconnected investigation after Major shared them with her.
Major admitted three charges of taking and possessing 13 indecent image and two of distributing two photos at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.
Jailing him for 10 months, Recorder Michael Elsom said: “This is a case that indicates what people can do with photographs of this nature, for who knows what will happen with those photographs when they fall into the hands of other people.
Major, of Newthorpe, Nottinghamshire, also received a concurrent sentence of 18 months after he was found guilty of sexual activity with a vulnerable 15-year-old girl.
His name will be added to a sexual offences prevention order and he must sign the sex offenders’ register.
The court heard he had sex with the 15-year-old schoolgirl on a demolition site in April 2014.
She then went to police after she was told the other images of the 17-year-old had been found on his phone.
During his trial in July, the victim told a jury that after they had sex Major said: “I can’t believe I’ve had sex with a 15-year-old.”
The court heard the pair met up again and kissed after she drank vodka but she became so drunk an ambulance was called.
Mayor sent pictures, which were not indecent, of the girl, which showed her lying unconscious on the ground with the captions: “If someone saw me with her” and “This isn’t what I hoped for”.
Prosecutor Robert Underwood said there was abuse of trust and an element of grooming.
He added: “As a result of this offending, she can’t trust people anymore.”
Recorder Elsom told Mayor: “In my judgment she was nothing more than a sexual toy, in your eye.”
Matthew Buckland, defending, said Mayor’s decision to text two photos of the 17-year-old girl to a close friend were “indicative of his immaturity” and “inappropriate bravado”.
He added: “This is a generation where people take selfies of themselves almost daily.
“There would be an enormous number of young people who would fall into the trapthis defendant fell into.”
