A total of 300,000 pupils, across 326 locations and picked from 600 public schools in Lagos have broken the world tooth brushing record by brushing their teeth simultaneously for one minute on Thursday.
The previous record was set when in 2007, 117,000 students in India brushed their teeth simultaneously for one minute at different locations.
According to pmnewsnigeria.com, At exactly, 2.15 pm on Thursday, Project Head of HEIT Solutions, Dr. Lawal Bakare, convener of the Tooth brushing Challenge Project, signalled on the students to begin brushing their teeth and called on them to stop at 2.16 pm.
The new record is, however, still subject to verification by officials of the Guinness Book of Records. This is done after the report from all locations is collated after which a certificate will be presented as the official World Record Holder.
Urnaija wishes the participants all the best.
