4 New Group Executive Directors Appointed At NNPC, 38 Senior Staff Asked To Leave

The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Tuesday announced the appointment of four new Group Executive Directors to head the new Directorates recently established while 38 top management staff have been retired.

The number of top management staff at the oil company has been reduced from 122 to 83.

Group Managing Director, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, said that the new appointments are in line with the Federal Government’s aspiration to transform the Corporation into a lean, efficient, business-focused, transparent and accountable national oil company in keeping with international best practices.

The appointments approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, include Dr. Maikanti Baru, Group Executive Director, Exploration & Production; Mr. Isiaka Abdulrazaq, Group Executive Director, Finance & Services; Engr. Dennis Nnamdi Ajulu, Group Executive Director, Refining & Technology; and Dr. Babatunde Victor Adeniran, Group Executive Director, Commercial & Investment.

A total of twelve personnel have been recruited from the private sector into the top management to ensure the corporation become a profit-driven business as against the current civil service orientation.
