Adele broke down in tears on stage on Wednesday night as she accepted a Brit award for Global Success, admitting: “I got really lost for a while.”
According to a Mirror report, the star failed to contain her emotions as she took to the stage to accept her third award of the night, telling the crowd: “I got really lost for a while and I didn’t know I would come back.”
During her acceptance speech, which earned her huge cheers from the crowd, she added: “Not bad for a girl from Tottenham…. Who don’t like flying.”
She also thanked her fans adding: “For people to be so kind to me is amazing.”
However, she couldn’t resist throwing in a cheeky swear word midway through – and presenters Ant and Dec were forced to apologise to the audience afterwards.
Adele also triumphed in a packed category to win the British Single prize.
The comeback queen’s hit track Hello earned her the prize, despite the singer competing against tunes by the likes of Ellie Goulding (Love Me Like You Do), Little Mix (Black Magic) and Ed Sheeran & Rudimental (Bloodstream).
“I was not expecting this one at all. Thank you so much. This is getting out of hand already,” she joked, as she picked up the gong from Suki Waterhouse and Simon Le Bon.
