“Baba Has Taken Colorado” – Nigerians Throw Shade At Buhari Over “Lifting 100m Nigerians Out Of Poverty” Claim

The president, Muhammadu Buhari has been seriously criticised on Twitter after he said in a speech delivered on Monday that after eight years his administration will have laid the foundation to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.
Premium Times, one of the newspapers, which reported the president’s claim were quick to point out the flaws in the president’s claim by stating that the World Poverty Clock in 2018 reported that Nigeria had overtaken India with the largest number of people living in extreme poverty.
According to the report released in May 2018, Nigeria now has an estimated 87 million people in extreme poverty, compared to India’s 73 million.
