President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, during the Presidential Media Chat, has revealed that has no idea about the ban on withdrawal of foreign currency with ATM cards issued in Nigeria.
Nigerians, especially students schooling abroad, have been protesting over the government’s decision to ban its citizens from making withdrawals from their Nigerian accounts while abroad.
Reacting to the development, Buhari said the question should be put to the Central Bank Governor, whom he said was in a better position to react to that.
“I don’t know anything about it. May be the question should be directed to the CBN governor. I think he’s in the better position to answer that,” President Buhari said.
He, however, added that the reason might not be unconnected with the plans by some Nigerians to move money overseas.
