The federal government of Nigeria on Wednesday held a meeting with the executives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, over the ongoing nationwide strike.
Reports gathered say that the meeting took place at the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA.
Those in attendance were the Minister of Labour Simon Bako Lalong, Minister of State Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha and NSA Nuhu Ribadu.
Also in attendance were labour leaders led by TUC President, Festus Osifo, NLC Secretary General Emmanuel Ugboaja and other Labour leaders.
The NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, had declared a nationwide strike, demanding the arrest of the suspected thugs and their sponsors.
This comes days after the NLC president was attacked in Owerri, Imo State capital on November 1 when workers in the state staged a protest over unpaid salaries.
