Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has come under attack over the recent announcement that he will be dropping ‘His excellency’ title.
Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday announced that he should no longer be addressed as ‘His Excellency.’
In a Twitter post, the governor made the following statement:
“Good evening Lagos. Your Excellency is a nice title that has been used to signify authority, position in government, authoritarian disposition, executive arrogance, and a demi-god mystique. Today, I wish to drop the title and to embrace a more representative one; Mr. Governor”
