Nigeria international goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has undergone successful surgery to his knee.
The 21-year-old suffered knee ligament damage in the Super Eagles 1-1 friendly draw with Brazil in Singapore last month; leaving the field on a stretcher.
His club side Omonia Nicosia confirmed the extent of his injury after returning to Cyprus, with Uzoho effectively ruled out of action for the remainder of the club season.
“And it was a success. I’m grateful to every prayer and good wishes said. Even the hidden prayers said on my behalf,” Uzoho wrote on social media on Friday.
“I’m deeply grateful. Now let the healing begin.”
Uzoho retained his place in the Super Eagles starting XI for friendly matches against both Ukraine and Brazil in recent months, having fallen down the pecking order ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where the West African’s managed a third place finish.
