A 31-year-old Ghanaian, Kwame Anane. pleaded for an Accra Circuit Court to have mercy on him while being tried for raping a 12-year-old girl because, according to him, he did not ejaculate before he stopped modernghana.com reports.
‘My Lord, although I penetrated, I did not get any enjoyment because some people appeared at the scene and we had to stop immediately, so have mercy on me.’ He pleaded.
He also told the Court that apart from not reaching climax he had the full consent of the rape victim because the girl agreed to collect money from him after the encounter.
As expected, his pleas fell on deaf ears as the Presiding judge sentenced him to seven years imprisonment.
While establishing its case against the accused, the prosecution stated that the rapist was owing the victim’s mother a lot of money after failing to pay her for the items he bought from her.
When the victim’s mother demanded for her money the accused person told her to send her daughter to come and collect the money from him. He subsequently seized that opportunity to take advantage of the girl.
The prosecution stated further that Kwame forced the girl into sex in an uncompleted building while seeing her off. Fortunately for the young girl, he was caught by some masons who had come to work on the building.
He fled from the scene upon seeing the witnesses but the victim was led home to the mother to report. The mother in turn lodged a complaint with the police. A medical report from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital revealed that the girl had been penetrated.
Anane was later arrested and charged with defiling a girl under the age of fourteen but he claimed that it was the girl who fondled with his manhood and told him to do it and give her money in return.
