Fans of R&B legend, R. Kelly, are demanding a refund from organisers of a show because they claimed the singer who sang R. Kelly songs at the event was not the real R. Kelly but an impostor known as R. Jelly.
Fans paid as much as $150 for the show.
The singer was set to perform at Louisiana’s Monroe Civic Centre on Saturday night.
Fans present at the venue could swear that the performer did not show up on the night at all.
The singer’s representatives insist the hooded singer who sang on that night was the real R. Kelly and not an impostor.
One female fan said: “We was scammed because 10 o’clock we was there, no R. Kelly. 11 o’clock: no R Kelly, 12 o’clock: no R Kelly, 12:45 no R. Kelly. 1 o’clock, here comes an impersonator.”
The woman also claims she saw the same wannabe in a local restaurant the same day.
R. Kelly himself is yet to make a comment on the claims.
