Iceland International, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Scores For Everton As They Lose To Liverpool

One of the players Super Eagles will probably be clashing with at the next summer World Cup, Gylfi Sigurdsson of Iceland, scored an equaliser for his English Premiership clubside, Everton, who eventually lost the match to Liverpool by two goals to one in a third Round FA Cup tie.

Liverpool’s James Milner opened scoring ten minutes before half time from the penalty spot following Mason Holgate’s tangle with Adam Lallana.

Just over twenty minutes after play resumed in the second half, Gylfi Sigurdsson’s smooth finish from the edge of the area put Everton level.

Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s latest sign-in, made a dream start for his new club following his £75m move from Southampton as his late header settled a highly competitive FA Cup third round Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield.

Liverpool were without injured forward Mohamed Salah and midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who has been linked with a £140m move to Barcelona.
