Final result declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the supplementary gubernatorial election in Kogi state show that the
All Progressives Congress scored a total of 247,752, while the Peoples Democratic Party scored 204,877 votes.
The APC candidate, Yahaya Bello was therefore declared winner.
Total valid votes for the election is 472, 983, the number of rejected votes are 21,740 while the total number of votes cast is 494,723.
The election was re-conducted as the APC had to replace their candidate after their original candidate, Abubakar Audu, died suddenly on the day of collation of the initial election.
The party decided to present the second runner up in the primary that produced Mr. Audu.
Mr. Audu’s deputy, James Faleke has gone to court to counter the party’s position.
