Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, Commends Undercover Journalist, Fisayo Soyombo

Investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo, who went undercover to expose corruption within the Nigeria Prison system has received official recognition for his undercover work from the Interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola, under whose ministry the prison services fall.

The minister gave the commendation at the Closing Ceremony of Project Activities Support by the European Union to the Nigerian Correctional Service, where he launched the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) TRAINING CURRICULUM/DERAD TEACHING TEMPLATE.

According to the minister, We commend the EU for supporting the Service in developing the training manual, but we must also commend
the cableng fisayo soyombo and Simon Kolawole who have worked to ensure that we see ourselves at least in an aspect of operation that we must review and improve.

The minister went on to say NCoS Officers should internalise the need to appreciate human dignity in the management of inmates so that when they come out, they would be better persons. You cannot permit dehumanisation of confined people and expect them to be anything less than an animal when they come out.
