A judge in Connecticut, USA, has sentenced a special education teaching assistant to Jail for having sex with a 12-year-old pupil.
The vulnerable boy told his teachers he and married Michelle Sulzicki had sex up to 20 times at his home.
The teenager also had to take a paternity test to see if he was the father of his tutor’s baby daughter, after telling police the pair sometimes had sex without condoms.
The victim revealed his ordeal to teachers at his new school in September after leaving Chapel Elementary School in Stratford, Connecticut, USA.
He told officers Sulzicki, 29, showered him with gifts but he reported the abuse after fearing he had got her pregnant but DNA tests proved he was not the child’s father.
The teaching assistant denied the allegations against her but eventually confessed to having sex with the boy when she handed herself in.
Sulzicki wept as she told Judge Robert Devlin yesterday: “I just want to apologise for all the pain and suffering I have caused.”
Her music teacher husband Thomas and parents sat behind her as she was jailed for two years, followed by 10 years of probation yesterday, the Daily Star reports.
Judge Devlin said: “This whole thing came up when you learned this 12-year-old boy was looking at pornography.
“That should have been a teaching moment but instead that is what triggered this sexual activity. All teachers are hurt when one does a bad thing.”
