Low Key Celebration For George’s Second Birthday

Prince George is two years old today and will have a low-key birthday party at Anmer Hall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s home in Norfolk, attended by his grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton.

Last year the Prince had a family party at Kensington Palace, with the Queen as guest of honour and the Band of the Irish Guards playing Happy Birthday, but there will be no members of the Royal family apart from his parents at this year’s party.

A new picture of Prince George has been released to mark his second birthday, which falls on July 22.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose a photograph taken by Mario Testino on the day of Princess Charlotte’s christening to celebrate the occasion.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George’s second birthday.”
