Man-of-The-Match, Aribo, Scores While Balogun Provides Assist In Rangers’ 4-1 Victory Over Dundee United
Two Nigerian internationals were on duty for Glasgow Rangers on Sunday with Joe Aribo emerging as Man-of-the-match after a brilliant 48th minutes third goal and Leon Balogun providing assist for the second goal.
The Ibrox side recovered from a slow start to beat Dundee United 4-1, before Celtic lost at Ross County.
Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent established an interval lead, Joe Aribo added a third, then Benjamin Siegrist’s clearance cannoned in off Alfredo Morelos.
Borna Barisic missed a penalty before Marc McNulty got a late consolation.
Both Rangers and Celtic have eight league fixtures left and the Ibrox side have an 18-point lead.
That means, Gerrard’s side would guarantee the title with a draw in the Old Firm game on 21 March should they win their next two games.
They could even clinch the title as soon as 6 March, if Celtic lose to Aberdeen next weekend.
Aribo’s goal, which was considered the goal of the game came three minutes into the second period, playing a one-two with Morelos on the left and thundering a shot into the opposite corner.
Stand-in Balogun showed his attacking credentials at the second goal and was solid defensively.
