Newly Appointed Chief of Staff To Zamfara State Governor Dies At 49

The government of Zamfara State has announced the death of the newly-appointed Chief of Staff to the governor, Alhaji Dahiru Zubairu.

According to a Daily Post report, the death was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Abdullahi Shinkafi, in Gusau on Thursday.

According to the statement, the 49-year-old Zubairu died after a brief illness at his Kaduna residence on Wednesday night, adding that the deceased is survived by a wife and four children.

Zubauru was a member of the House of Representatives for eight years, representing Birnin-Magaji/Kaura-Namoda constituency from 2003 to 2011.

He was also National Vice-Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) when he was chairman of Birnin-Magaji Local Government Area between 1999 and 2002.
