Nigerian Student Drowns In Malaysia
A Nigerian student in Malyasia, identified as Daniel Tochukwu Odoemenam has died in the Tasik Dayang Bunting or ‘Lake of the Pregnant Maiden’ in Malaysia, according to a report in bernama.com.
The 27-year-old Nigerian student was found drowned in the 10-metre deep freshwater lake, one of the many tourism attractions in the island, on Tuesday.
A team of divers from the island’s fire and rescue department retrieved the body at 6.39pm from the bottom of the lake.
The body was sent to the fisheries department jetty in Bukit Malut before it was sent to the Langkawi Hospital.
Bernama learnt that Odoemenam, a student at a university in Kuala Lumpur was here to spend his holidays.
This is the second drowning case at the lake this year.
In February, a 20-year-old Taiwanese died under similar circumstances.
