Nigerians on Twitter have been calling on the vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo to step down from office in order for allegations against him that he diverted tax funds to finance his election campaign to be investigated.
On the vice-president’s part, he has agreed to waive his immunity for investigations to commence but some Nigerians have pointed out that while he remains vice-president, it is constitutionally improbable to waive his immunity.
Dear @ProfOsinbajo, please stop all these “TRADERMONI” remarks. As a learned fellow, you should be aware that waiving your immunity while you remain as VP is constitutionally impossible. That is undermining the constitution. Do resign if you truly want to go through a fair probe

Does it mean you are resigning? To enable you face the music instead of influencing the judiciary. Do the needful, resign and be probed. Be a gentleman sir

What's good for Onnoghen should also be good for @ProfOsinbajo— Revolutionary Don Salvador (@Umenyijp) September 25, 2019

There can't be robust adjudication without robust investigation, which can't happen while you're in office because of possible interference. The decent thing for the VP and Fowler to do is to step aside (not resign) till investigation is concluded and made public.
