Obama Hosts Buhari At The White House July 20
President Barack Obama of the United States will on July 20, 2015 host President Muhammadu Buhari at the White House where issues pertaining to cooperation between the two countries on how to advance a holistic and regional approach to combating the Boko Haram insurgency among other issues would be discussed.
A statement by the Office of the White House Chief Press Secretary indicates that Obama has personally invited the Nigerian leader. The visit will also afford the United States the platform to assist Nigeria in its bid to promote important economic and political reforms that will advance its full potential as a regional and global leader.
The statement signed by the White House Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Josh Earnest also noted that Obama’s invitation to Buhari signifies America’s support for Nigerians on their historic 2015 general election adjudged worldwide as one of the freest and fairest polls in Nigeria’s democratic history.
