Van Persie restored Manchester’s lead in the 59th minute with a superb volley coming from a Velencia assist.
Rooney’s second goal of the match and his 200th for the Manchester club came in the 70th minute of the match.
Valencia made it 4-1 in favour of Manchester United in the 79th minute and Man. Utd would have had a brilliant day had the scoreline remained that way.
However, Bayer Leverkusen scored another goal two minutes to end of regulation time to make the match end at 4-2, advantage Manchester United.
