“What Will People Eat?” – Uhuru Kenyatta Explains Why He Did Not Order A Total Lockdown In Kenya
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has ruled out a total lockdown in the country saying locking down would leave people with no food.
The president said a total lockdown will be the last resort if Kenyans fail to follow the directives issued to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
He banned movement in and out of the capital Nairobi and three other coastal counties where coronavirus cases have been on the rise, in his latest address on Monday.
President Kenyatta in his follow up interview on Tuesday morning said the directives were to prevent a scenario where the country goes on total lockdown posing “what will people eat?”.
