“We Have Found The Wreckage” – Egyptair VP Tells CNN’s Amanpour

The wreckage of the Egyptair plane that disappeared over the Mediterranean has been found, EgyptAir Vice President Ahmed Adel said in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

According to a CNN report, the cause of the plane’s disappearance is more likely terrorism than a technical issue, Egypt’s civil aviation minister said.

U.S. government officials have an initial theory that a bomb took down the plane. Officials said the theory could change, with one senior administration official cautioning it is not yet supported by a “smoking gun.”

Greek air traffic control tried to reach the Airbus A320’s pilots about two minutes before it disappeared — but got no response.

As the plane left Greek airspace for Egyptian airspace, it swerved sharply and plunged from 37,000 feet down to the Mediterranean, Greece says.
